Our Process
Ike'sSpikesIndy is a not-for-profit initiative that works in Indiana. Our goal is to give Hoosier athletes in both cross-country and track the chance to compete, regardless of financial restraints.
Our Process
Ike'sSpikesIndy functions by collecting previously used pairs of spikes, and then redistributing them. Athletes often use spikes for a season or two, only to be left in a closet after they become too small for a growing athlete or after their season ends. However, most high-quality spikes can last for over 100 miles, and their utility is wasted by simply going unused. Ike'sSpikesIndy reaches out to teams to: collect retired pairs from athletes, and then sends requested pairs to students and teams in need.
How can I donate/recieve spikes?
We are a community initiative
How can I donate money?
To donate, we will organize spike drives at various schools and events to receive spike donations. If your team graciously wants to donate your own used spikes, click "Donate now"
If your team would like to receive spikes, click "Apply Now." We cannot guarantee that all team requests can be fulfilled, but Ike'sSpikesIndy will notify your school. For more information, feel free to email us.
Ike'sSpikesIndy relies solely on monetary donations to pay for shipping, website maintenance, and other necessary functions. Every donation is a blessing, and helps us reach more athletes. We are hoping to soon be fiscally sponsored. For a definition of fiscal sponsorship, visit our "Upcoming Plans" page.
You can donate through a third party platform to get tax-deductible donations. Click "Donate Now" to continue.
Shipping and storage
How do I get my questions answered?
Athlete Empowerment
Ike'sSpikesIndy handles all shipping between teams and securely stores the donated pairs.
We encourage you to reach out to us by emailing isaac@ikesspikesindy.com any questions you might have or using the "Let's Chat!" service in the bottom right of this page. Ike'sSpikesIndy should respond in no more than a day. We are devoted to all of our benefactors and will waste no time in fully answering your inquiries.
We are fixated solely on leveling the running field. There are no "affluent" and "worse off" labels here; our goal is for all to be equally supported in sports. This is not a charity, just a problem in our sport being solved.
